Jal Jeevan Mission is a flagship programme of the Government of India which aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households in rural India by 2024.
Role of PSRWS as an Implementation Support Agency (ISA)
As an Implementation Support Agency (ISA) under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Phansidewa Social & Rural Welfare Society (PSRWS) is responsible for:
Community Mobilization and Awareness Generation
Engaging with villagers to build awareness on safe drinking water, water conservation, and the importance of household tap connections.
Capacity Building of Gram Panchayats and VWSCs
Training local institutions like Gram Panchayats and Village Water & Sanitation Committees (VWSCs) to plan, manage, and maintain water supply systems.
Support in Planning and Implementation
Assisting in the preparation of Village Action Plans (VAPs) and supporting the execution of water supply schemes at the village level.
Technical Assistance and Monitoring
Providing handholding support, regular monitoring, and feedback to ensure the quality and sustainability of water supply systems.
